Dear Parents,

It has been a particularly busy week at BIC and I expect this will continue to be the case until the end of term. I had the pleasure of representing the school at the COBIS conference in London and now look forward to continuing the handover process with new Principal Alison Colwell who will be joining us on Monday and Tuesday.

Public examinations continue, and internal exams begin next week. The hard work and efforts of the past year will now pay dividend.

My thanks to the Friends of BIC for all their support, plans are afoot for our Summer Event in early June.

As I said, there is a lot taking place and I am happy to share this all with you.

As ever,

Duncan Giles

BIC at COBIS Conference

The 38th COBIS conference was held in London over the weekend. BIC is the only member school in Mallorca and the Council of British International Schools offers a unique platform to share best practise and also support the professional development needs of colleagues. Duncan Giles was able to meet with key members and also discuss initiatives with BIC suppliers, mainly both examination boards, CIE and Edexcel as well as GL Assessment, all present at the conference. Additionally, there was time to catch up with other Orbital Principals, Derek Laidlaw from Oryx International School in Doha and Malcolm Philips from the English International School in Moscow.

Secondary Sports Day - June 5th

Our Secondary Sports day will take place on Wednesday, June 5th during periods 1 to 3.

Students who are participating in the event can come to school in their sports kit and remain in it all day.

We encourage all students to come in their house colours.

BIC Young Entrepreneurs Live on Radio One Mallorca

BIC Young Entrepreneurs took to the airwaves to pitch their business idea for selling fresh Mallorcan ice cream at future events. This followed on from their successful participation in the BIC Dragons event, modelled on the TV programme. They were joined by local entrepreneur, BIC dragon and BIC parent Alexander Skora. The BIC girls and teacher Lisa Cull were supporting Radio One Mallorca's Radiothon to raise money for charity.

Radio One Raffle Tickets are now available!

Radio One Mallorca raffle tickets are now available from Reception at 2€ per ticket.

This year we are supporting GOSH, Son Espases Children Intensive Care Ward, ASPANOB and ASDICA as part of the programme.

We encourage everyone to participate in support of this wonderful cause.
