World Book Day was such fun this morning, with the most amazing costumes. The theme this year was Reading Around The World so each classroom became a different country. Students had a Reading Passport in which they received a stamp for each country visited.
We want to remind you about our Community Beach Clean that is coming up next Sunday. We will meet at Cala Major beach at 12, clean the beach and then enjoy a picnic. The challenge is to pack a single-use plastic free picnic.
Tineke First Aid Training will be offering a First Aid course for parents on May 20th which will run all day and be certified. Places will be limited so please let us know if you are interested in reserving a spot. More information to follow.
We look forward to seeing you all next week for the parents evenings.
Have a lovely weekend,

Early Years Starfish & Seahorse Class
Early Years had a special visit from Nick the vet and Rafa the dog this week as part of their topic ‘People Who Help Us’. They found out how vets help to care for animals that are injured or unwell and how they can take good care of their own pets at home. They especially loved watching Rafa do some tricks such as ‘high five’ and feeding him some dog treats afterwards!
Lots of laughter and happy faces all around!
Year 1 Seals Class
This week we have been planting in Seals. The children used a recycled bottle for a cup, filled it with soil and added in a sunflower seed. We learnt that the seeds must have lots of sunshine and be watered regularly.
We can't wait to see how much our plants will grow!
Year 2 Turtles Class
Turtles had lots of fun this week making up actions to retell their new class book.
In other news, this week and every week, a group of children from Turtles and Dolphins get together and become ‘Eco Amigos’! They have been doing a fantastic job collecting and recycling paper from each classroom. A big well done to all the children involved!
Year 3 Dolphins Class
At the start of the week, Dolphin Class was lucky enough to have an exciting visit from one of our wonderful Dolphin parents. The children loved learning more about different types of fossils and were overjoyed to hold such a variety of real life fossils. Thank you from Dolphin Class! Rounding off the week, Dolphin class were treated to their first forest school lesson of the year with Ms Jamiy. They thoroughly enjoyed learning more about our amazing island and the special plants that are native to this land. We can’t wait to learn more!
Year 4 Jellyfish Class
This week after out outdoor learning assembly with Miss Jamie, we have made the most of the lemon tree terrace. The weather has been beautiful so we have spent some time there reading and playing maths games. The jellyfish are also looking forward to performing their class assembly out there next week. Photos and info next week!
Year 5 Whales & Year 6 Sharks Class
This week we have been learning about Dali in art in preparation for our Spanish Art Exhibition that is coming up soon. The children found his artwork quite creepy and sinister! Their sketches of different animals in the style of Dali's elephants were very interesting and they are now using watercolours and other media to develop the work.
This week Year 3 and 4 went to the cinema to watch the movie ‘Del revés’ (inside out). We been working in the class the emotions that appear on the movie. To finish with the project, after the movie we did some activities in the class. They enjoyed the trip and teacher too. Recommended movie to watch with all the family.
