On Thursday morning this week, 14th February, we hosted our Early Years and Primary School Open Day at Baleares International College. We were so happy to see so many of you give us the opportunity to showcase what makes the BIC community so special.
Children were able to complete some Valentine’s themed activities with their parents, tour our facilities at both campuses, meet our teachers, speak to our Principals and see our students in action.
We know you want the best education for your child, which is why we offer gold-standard British education, following the English National Curriculum all the way through from Early Years to Secondary School, delivered by highly qualified and experienced teachers.
Our visitors will most probably agree that it is so important for families to visit the school to gain an insight into this friendly atmosphere and ask lots of questions before making a decision on what’s best for their children’s future.
On Friday evening last week, February 8th, we hosted the Wings for ALS charity event at Hotel OD Portals. From the sale of tickets at school, we were able to donate €506 to the ELA Association on the night! We also made a further €156 from the sale of butterflies, which will be banked with the rest of our fundraising profits until the end of the year. Thanks to everyone that helped at the event: Anusha, Zbi, Annabel, Linda, Nina, Annika, Julia, Vivien, Karla and to Ms Hatton and Mrs Coley for coordinating and helping raise money for this cause that is so close to our hearts. Proceeds from the Valentine's Disco yesterday are still being counted, and will be added to our total as well.
Also this week, our young volleyball players had a visit from members of the volleyball team currently playing in the Super League. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to test their skills and learn more about the life of a volleyball player. They even gave the students their autographs and will be back to visit our school again! Thanks to our PE teacher, Miss Izabela for organising such a new and exciting opportunity for us!
As you know, at BIC we are committed to supporting students to develop the most effective habits for learning. We have already had some great interest in our upcoming BIC Parent Talk, delivered by international speaker, Tricia Taylor, based around The Science of Learning on March 14th from 7pm. Tickets are limited, you can purchase yours at the school reception, €10 per person. This will be an excellent opportunity for parents to learn more about how they can support their children's learning at home. We look forward to seeing you there.
