Learning Support Assistant

Start date: September 2021

Teaching and Learning Activities

- To support individuals or small groups in their learning under the supervision of the teacher which may be carried out in the classroom or outside teaching space
- To support teachers in the smooth and effective running of classes
- Contribute to the preparation of the classroom and teaching resources and materials as directed
- Support formative and summative assessments and provide feedback to pupils and teachers.
- To cover a class when necessary (with planned work from the teacher)
- Assist in the display of pupils´ work
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Supervise pupils off site on school trips and other external visits
- Playground supervision and possible cover of classes due to absence

Requirements

- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, LSA or similar role
- Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices
- Passionate about helping children to improve and progress
- Patient, caring, understanding and able to adapt to a varied situations bringing a solution based attitude
- Fluency in English, other languages are also desirable
- Experience with students from an EAL background is also desirable
