About the Conference

The Model United Nations (MUN) Conference is an educational simulation where students take on the roles of United Nations delegates to debate global issues and seek solutions through diplomacy and negotiation. This immersive experience is designed to foster critical thinking, public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills, all while enhancing students' understanding of international relations and current affairs.

Over two inspiring days, students will step into these roles, representing nations and viewpoints in a professional and structured environment. Participants will be divided into four committees, each focusing on a significant topic shaping the world today.

MONDAY: Conference Day 1

Day 1

With a warm welcome by the Secretary General, Day 1 of the Orbital MUN Conference Budapest 2026 kicked off with truly inspiring speeches by Mr McGarry, Principal, Mr Leslie Hayler, Second Secretary of the UK to Hungary, H.E. Ragnar Almqvist, Ambassador of Ireland to Hungary and H.E. Cynthia Mayer Zavala, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to Hungary, followed by committee ice breakers and the first round of formal debates for our delegates. Debating across five global committees, delegates introduced their country positions, engaged in constructive discussion and began shaping the key issues to be addressed. The day set a productive tone for collaboration, diplomacy and meaningful dialogue in the sessions ahead!

This year’s conference provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage with global issues while developing their confidence, teamwork, and diplomatic skills in the historic setting of Budapest, Hungary.
