Our Dance Team is an exciting new addition this year, created in response to our growing success at the IFDPA competition in recent years. Following a competitive audition process, 50 talented students were selected to be part of the team. Together, they are training across a wide range of styles including contemporary, street and hip hop, jazz, acro and musical theatre, developing both their versatility and performance skills. Team members also have the opportunity to take part in our after-school clubs, where they can learn additional routines and further refine their technique.

The team will represent the school at several prestigious events throughout the year, beginning with a local Mallorca competition in April, followed by a national competition in Barcelona in May, both organised by BS Dansa. The season will culminate in an international competition at Disneyland, Paris in October - an incredible opportunity for our dancers to perform on a global stage.
We are already celebrating fantastic success. At the Regional BS Dansa New Talents competition in Mallorca, our dancers delivered outstanding performances. Out of 11 routines entered, 9 received awards, including six team third places, one solo third place for Elina Kuzmenko, two team second places, and one team first place. Our senior contemporary routine Soldier also received a special mention from the judges.

A truly remarkable achievement came from our senior hip hop routine, Diva. Out of 130 performances, only four were selected to receive sponsored entries to a prestigious dance competition in Brazil and Diva was one of them. We are incredibly proud of all our dancers and their dedication, passion and success.
Once students reach Sixth Form, those who wish to turn their passion for dance into a recognised qualification have the opportunity to do so. We offer the Level 3 Dance Teaching Assistant Diploma with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA), a UK-regulated qualification that is recognised worldwide and provides an excellent first step into dance teaching. With Ms Mayes as an accredited IDTA teacher, students also have the opportunity to take graded examinations in a range of disciplines, including Ballet, Contemporary Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft and Freestyle, supporting both their technical development and academic progression in dance.
