BIC Students Go On Air in First-Ever Radio Broadcasting Workshop
Baleares International College, Sa Porrassa has completed a dynamic new collaboration with HEAT Radio Mallorca, the island’s only full‑time English‑language radio station. Over 60 students took part in an immersive, five‑day radio bootcamp designed to build confidence, creativity and real‑world communication skills.
The programme brought professional broadcasting directly into school life, culminating in students producing a full radio show under as‑live conditions. Students worked alongside broadcasting professionals in the fast‑paced environment of commercial radio,” the document explains, highlighting how the experience strengthened “public-speaking confidence, creative thinking and commercial awareness.
A Partnership with Mallorca’s Leading English Radio Station
HEAT Radio Mallorca reaches more than 114,000 adults each quarter and broadcasts 24/7 across the island. Students gained behind‑the‑scenes access to its newsroom, studios and production teams, learning how a modern media outlet operates. The station provides locally produced programming, music, news, and entertainment, tailored to the island’s international and English-speaking community. With such a wide audience, as well as over 25,000 followers on social media, this workshop really put BIC Sa Porrassa students front and centre, testing thier nerves as well as their broadcasting skills.
