Alexandra Lewandowski is a Canadian educator and the current EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher at BIC Sant Agustí. She is a fully qualified primary and EAL teacher, holding her teaching credentials from The College of New Jersey. With over 15 years of international teaching experience, Ali has worked in Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, China, and now Mallorca, bringing a truly global perspective to her classroom.
Her extensive experience in international primary schools inspired her to specialise in EAL education. Ali is passionate about supporting students who are new to English, helping them develop the language and literacy skills they need to fully access the curriculum and achieve academic success alongside their peers.
In her teaching, Ali uses a student‑centred, communicative approach that supports learners in developing both their social and academic English. She draws on evidence‑based EAL strategies such as scaffolding, targeted vocabulary instruction, visual supports and guided practice to ensure that language is accessible and meaningful for all students. Her lessons are structured to build confidence, promote risk‑taking and encourage students to use English in authentic, purposeful ways. By closely monitoring individual progress and collaborating with classroom teachers, Ali ensures that each student receives the right level of challenge and support to fully engage with the curriculum.
