Baleares International College offers a challenging and supportive Sixth Form education built around internationally recognised A Levels and career-based qualifications.
Students benefit from small classes, experienced teachers and personalised guidance, allowing them to develop academically while becoming confident, independent young adults.
Our Sixth Form is based at the BIC Sa Porrassa campus in southwest Mallorca, where students join a welcoming international community and study in a dedicated Sixth Form environment.
Internationally Recognised Qualifications
A Levels are respected by universities around the world and provide students with the opportunity to specialise in the subjects most relevant to their ambitions.
Students typically select three or four A Level or career-based courses, supported by physical education, personal development and the opportunity to complete an Extended Project Qualification.
Courses are taught in English, except for modern language subjects, which are taught in the language being studied.

Sixth Form is also a time for students to develop the personal qualities, practical skills and independence they will need beyond school.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as principal of BIC Sa Porrassa. As principal, my aim is to build on the school’s strong foundations and make it the number one school of choice on the island. For the children in our care, my aim is that they enjoy school and love coming here, just as I loved my own school days.
Joining Baleares International College Sixth Form
Applications are welcomed from current BIC students and young people joining us from other schools in Mallorca or overseas.
Our Admissions team will guide students and their families through each stage:
- Submit an enquiry.
- Speak with our Admissions team.
- Arrange a personalised visit.
- Discuss subjects and future ambitions.
- Complete the application process.
- Receive support preparing to join Sixth Form.
Students applying for A Levels are normally expected to have at least five IGCSE passes at grade C/5 or above, including Mathematics and English. Certain subjects may have additional entry requirements.
What Makes Sixth Form at Baleares Special?
A Levels provide a rigorous and flexible route into universities in the UK, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and other destinations worldwide.
Students can focus on the subjects most relevant to their chosen degree, career or area of interest.
Small, seminar-style classes allow students to participate actively, explore subjects in greater depth and receive meaningful feedback from their teachers.
Additional mentoring helps each student stay focused, overcome challenges and work towards their individual academic goals.
Students learn from experienced, UK-qualified teachers with strong subject knowledge. Many have also worked as senior examiners, giving students valuable insight into course and examination requirements.
Students have access to a dedicated Sixth Form study centre with a more independent, college-style atmosphere.
This gives them the space and responsibility to manage their studies while still benefiting from the structure and support of the wider school community.

Recent BIC students have progressed to universities in the UK, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe, pursuing subjects including law, psychology, engineering, international relations, sport and the creative arts.
