13 A grades, a 98% pass rate and the school’s strongest proportion of top grades in three years.
Students at Baleares International College, Sa Porrassa are celebrating today after collecting a set of A Level results that included 13 A grades, more than double last year’s total, and a 98% pass rate*.
The results were achieved by the largest Year 13 cohort in the school’s recent history, with student numbers rising by more than 70% on last summer as the Sixth Form continues to expand. Almost a third of all grades awarded were at A* or A, the highest proportion in three years, and more than half were at A* to B.
Outstanding individual performances
Four students achieved straight A* and A grades right across their A Level programme. Laia, Ismene, Aiken and Lilly were among the very highest performers in the year group, with outstanding results spanning mathematics, the sciences and modern languages.
Elsewhere in the cohort, Margarita, Emma, Marcel and Anaya each secured multiple top grades across a broad range of subjects, from business and mathematics to languages, the sciences and the social sciences.

Mathematics produced an exceptional set of results, with 86% of all mathematics grades awarded at A or A* and every student securing a grade C or above.
Every further mathematics candidate achieved an A* or A. In physics, half of all grades were at A* or A and every student passed at grade C or above.
The sciences performed strongly overall, with almost 90% of biology, chemistry and physics grades awarded at C or above.
In the humanities, every history and geography candidate achieved a grade C or better, with three quarters of history grades at B or above.

Reflecting the international character of the school, students sat A Levels in six modern languages this summer, including Spanish, French, German, Russian and Persian.
Almost half of all language grades were awarded at A* or A, with five students achieving A in Russian and two more securing A in Spanish**.
Looking ahead
Students now move on to university destinations and gap year placements across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and beyond, with the school’s higher education team continuing to support applicants through the coming weeks.
