We aim to create a stimulating and caring environment which enables all students to reach their potential and by doing so, develop their skills and confidence in all areas of life.
The Forest
What is Forest School?
Forest School is an ethos of outdoor learning that focuses on developing a child’s confidence, independence, and resilience through regular, long-term sessions in a natural environment. We believe the natural world is a vital extension of our classroom. Through direct experiences in nature, students can deepen their connection with the environment and develop a sense of responsibility towards nature.
The programme structure
All our children participate in dedicated blocks during the year. We provide tailored sessions for ages 3 to 11 years old that grow in complexity from Early Years through to the end of Primary. Forest school is based on child led discovery where facilitators follow the child’s interests, allowing for organic problem-solving and risk-assessment.
Sant Agustí's Forest School Programme is a collaboration with the EDUNAT cooperative.

The Forest and the academic bridge
Our teachers work in close partnership with EDUNAT professionals to ensure outdoor discovery reinforces our British Curriculum goals. Forest School sessions provide a "lived experience" for:
Science: Exploring ecosystems, biodiversity, and seasonal changes.
Geography: Map-making, understanding topography, and environmental stewardship.
Literacy: Inspiring descriptive vocabulary and creative writing through sensory stimuli.
Personal and Social (PSHE): Building grit, teamwork, and mental well-being.
And much much more…
The environment is the third teacher.
Reggio Emilia ApproachThe Water

Only a 5-minute walk from school at Port Calanova, home to the Spanish National Sailing School, a highly qualified team encourage our students to test their skills and master the art of sailing, kayaking and other exciting water sports. This is offered as an element of our physical education curriculum and is available as an after-school club throughout the year.
The Coast

We are very fortunate to have many beautiful beaches within walking distance from the school. Subjects such as Geography and Art lend themselves to trips to the beach, where our students can explore and develop a range of skills from mapping the local area and discovering beach wildlife, to sketching boats at the sailing club.
As a school, we work hard to educate our students about marine conservation and plastic pollution. We collaborate with the Save the Med foundation and regularly participate in beach cleans around the island.
