Healthy eating for healthy minds

At BIC Sa Porrassa, our lunches are freshly prepared daily by an external catering company, Mallorca Catering, who offer healthy school lunches, using where possible fresh, locally sourced meat, vegetables and fruit as well as taking into consideration allergies and food preferences. Fresh salad and fruit are always available.

The school meals are not included in the tuition fees. Lunch should be pre-ordered and pre-paid online. Lunch menus are provided each month and are available online upon registration.

Allergies – Nut free schools

Once you are registered and confirmed, it is very important that you confirm any food allergies or special diets, if applicable.

To avoid any allergic reactions please remember we are a NUT FREE school – please do not send any nuts into school as part of a snack or a lunch.

Packed Lunch

At BIC, we understand that not all children may want a school lunch, therefore it is not compulsory and children are also given the option to bring a packed lunch. Packed lunches need to be brought into school in suitable containers (not glass), and all items must be labelled with the child's name. Please note that due to local regulations, we are not able to heat up any pack lunches within the school grounds and therefore packed lunches need to be cold meals.

Healthy Morning Snacks

Students are also welcome to bring in their own healthy snacks to enjoy at break time.

For the safety of our students and staff we operate a strict 'no nuts' policy within the school.

Suitable snack:
sandwiches, cubes of cheese, fruit, cereal bars, savoury biscuits, small savoury snacks, chopped carrots/cucumber/cherry tomatoes, small plain cake, small tubs of yoghurt (in cooler weather), juice or water.

Please refrain from the following: sweets (candy) or chocolate; nuts (because of allergies of other students); food that needs to be reheated or refrigerated; canned or glass bottled drinks; sugary or energy drinks.

We also ask students to bring with them a refillable water bottle, flask or sealable cup (no glass please) each day and labelled with their name.
