Lara Carrillo Hensley is an early years foundation stage (EYFS) teacher at Baleares International College Sant Agustí. She holds a formal degree in Primary Education, specialising in Music through the Universitat de les Illes Balears and also holds a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). She has seven years experience teaching within the British National Curriculum and Spanish Curriculum.

Lara’s teaching philosophy centers on a holistic approach to learning, recognizing each child as a whole individual. She strongly believes that children’s emotional, physical and mental wellbeing are fundamental to their engagement, development, and success in the classroom. By nurturing these interconnected aspects, Lara creates a supportive and inclusive learning environment where children feel valued, confident, and motivated to learn. She has gained valuable teaching experience in both England and Mallorca, which has enriched her practice and cultural awareness.

Outside of the classroom, Lara enjoys singing, spending quality time with her husband and two daughters and embracing slow living.
