Five reasons to join BIC
1) Delivering the best of British education
We know you want the best education for your child, so that’s why we deliver the English National Curriculum all the way through from the early years to secondary education. We strive to provide a curriculum that inspires our students to achieve the best possible IGCSE and A Level results. We’re also proud to say that we have the highest quality, fully-trained teachers from the UK, all of whom are specially selected for their experience and excellence. As we are owned and run by a British team we offer a fully-immersive British learning experience for students that will help them to become responsible global citizens with the skills to excel in the ever-evolving modern marketplace.
2) A truly international experience
We never forget the value of your child´s cultural diversity. With students from over 40 different countries, BIC has one of the most varied international student bodies in Spain. As well as providing a stimulating and cosmopolitan environment, this also means English is truly the common language, and is spoken throughout the School by all students and staff alike. BIC is also part of the Orbital Education group, with sister schools in Doha, Budapest, Moscow, Ljubljana, Quito and Shanghai. This provides many exciting opportunities for integration, joint projects and reciprocal visits, making us a truly global school.
3) Driving academic excellence
We are very proud of our recent IGCSE and A Level results, which place BIC on the same academic tier as the other top schools on the island. This is in no small part due to our excellent teaching staff, all of whom are qualified and experienced in the UK, and who bring with them the latest methodologies and approaches to teaching, learning, tracking and assessment.
4) Opportunities for all
We know it´s not all about A stars; it´s about ensuring students make the best possible progress and do the best they can, whatever their level may be. BIC is non-selective and is the only school on the island to focus on Progression as well as Attainment, in line with the current approach in the UK. We also offer a comprehensive programme of extra-curricular and after-school activities to our students, including sports, arts, expeditions and more. At BIC, we give all our students the chance to develop a wide range of skills both in and out of the classroom.
5) Two excellent campuses to choose from
BIC offers gold-standard education to children aged 2 to 18 years and families have two fantastic campuses to choose from: a larger campus in Sa Porrassa for children aged 3 to 18, and a smaller school in Sant Agustí on the outskirts of Palma for children aged 2 to 11. Both provide the same fully-immersive British experience, the same English National curriculum and the same highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, along with a wide range of facilities and extra-curricular activities.
