"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today" - Malcom X

I believe I am lucky enough to have one of the best jobs in the world. One that is varied and that can be joyous. It has been my pleasure to be involved in the education and care of children for many years now, having originally started as a teaching assistant in Manchester some years ago.

In my opinion, Year 1 is the springboard for children into a successful and enjoyable school career. In this sense, I very much see Year 1 as a foundation year, where the children learn how to learn, and it ensures the children are ready to access the curriculum through the primary years and beyond. Fostered through previous personal and professional teaching experiences, I have a strong commitment to inclusive learning and thoroughly believe in providing a fun and enjoyable environment in which children can flourish. It is heart-warming to see the difference in each child from when they first commence Year 1 to the progress they have made by the end of the year, both academically and socially. It is a privilege to be part of this process and witness each child´s transformation. This is where I find the most fulfilment professionally and personally. It is the reason I am a teacher and the reason I love my job.
