We are looking for new members for our exciting adventure to New York City
BIC introduced a Model United Nations club in September 2021 and it has grown in strength and numbers this year. The students took part in sessions every two weeks as part of the ‘Activities Afternoon’ programme. In January 2022, the MUN team traveled to Bilbao to take part in their first conference. It took several months of research and preparation for the students to be experts on their country and their committee but all the hard work was worth it. It was a huge success and several of our students won awards and prizes for their excellent contributions during the event.
From September, we are hoping for our MUN team to grow. With one conference under our belts, we are embarking on an exciting adventure. We are planning to attend the NHSMUN conference in New York City in March 2023. This is the biggest and most prestigious conference for secondary age students in the United States so we are incredibly excited to be accepted and invited to attend. We already have a team of excellent ambassadors in our MUN club but we are always looking for new members to join us.
If you will be in Year 9 upwards next year, think you would be interested in joining our Model United Nations club and would like to come with us to New York in March then don’t forget to sign up for MUN when the ‘Activity Afternoon’ choices are made in September. In order to go on the trip you must join the group in September and remain part of the team until the trip.
More information about the trip will be sent out in September including prices and exact dates. Until then, have a look online to find out more about what Model UN involves and whether you think it’s something you’d like to be involved in.
