MONDAY: Conference Day 1
Today, Day One of the Orbital MUN Conference kicked off with the Opening Ceremony. Naomi, a student from the British International School of Ljubljana and the Secretary-General of the conference, alongside Ema, the Deputy Secretary-General, delivered powerful speeches that set the tone for the event. Mrs. Simona Leskovar, Director of the Bled Strategic Forum and a distinguished career diplomat with over 20 years of experience in Slovenian diplomacy, also shared her insightful words, further enriching the opening of what promises to be a memorable conference.
The conference continued with the Committee Icebreakers, where students had the opportunity to get to know one another through a series of fun and creative activities. Highlights included building marshmallow pyramids, playing pantomime, participating in quizzes and engaging in the 'Whose Story?' game—fostering teamwork and sparking new connections among participants.
In the afternoon session, delegates dove deeper into the four key topics, building on the morning's debates. They participated in both moderated and unmoderated caucuses, balancing structured exchanges with dynamic, informal discussions. This format allowed them to refine their arguments, explore solutions and collaborate with fellow delegates.
